amazing how one person's writing can make you cringe in a good way and another can illicite the same reaction in a bad way.
from louise l. hay's daily affirmations,
"i feel beautiful inside and out today. i project a happy, healthy glow that makes me a joy to be around. i look in the mirror and exclaim, 'i love me!'" ugh. the fact that this is from an "i can do it!" calendar is questionable enough...
then, from c.s. lewis's mere christianity,
"a world of nice people, content in their own niceness, looking no further, turned away from God, would be just as desperately in need of salvation as a miserable world--and might even be more difficult to save." hard, but good.
of course, it's not fair to compare hay to lewis. i mean, how many could stand against him? but still. there should be some level out there.
